Sue Wade potted biography

My story is one of resilience, especially when I reflect on its potted history!  I was born in 1963 to a father who was a property developer, so I've been around the design and construction of buildings all my life and both studied and had masses of hands on experience in all aspects of design, engineering and building.  There are three things that are part of my DNA: dogs, horses, and buildings.

I started my first construction business in 1985 in London and sold it a few years later. After that, I somewhat accidentally transitioned into accounting and IT, where I worked for several years and eventually owned my own business from 2002. During my time in IT, I continued to develop my own properties.

In 2010, I sold my IT company but continued working for the merged business that resulted from the sale. Unfortunately, that arrangement did not work out, but I had signed a contract agreeing not to work in the same market for two years.

Faced with this challenge, I decided to return to design and construction. This new venture had its ups and downs. In 2016, I sold another business I had created, with the plan that the new owner  would use me for the architectural work.   However, that plan changed when the new owner went bankrupt, leaving me without a job.

I then started a new design and build company called Southern Architectural Design & Build (SADB), which turned out to be a great success. I decided to stop taking on client work at the end of 2023 to focus on my own developments. Currently, I'm in a position where I am unable to sell my last project due to the slump in the housing market.  This sparked the idea for my new business, Love or List Your Home. This venture differs from SADB because I no longer employ a construction team, but it keeps me very busy doing the part of the job I love the most - the direct interaction with clients.​​
